Diamedica launches two brand new products at the Kenya Society of Anaesthesiologists Annual Conference in Nairobi, 30 July to 1 August. The new oxygen concentrator driven Diamedica Baby CPAP and the Diamedica Oxygen Reservoir Filling System provide inexpensive solutions for use in low-resource environments.
The Diamedica Baby CPAP is an oxygen concentrator driven bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure system for use in areas with limited resources. Conventional CPAP uses compressed gas cylinders of oxygen and air making it prohibitively expensive in low income countries. This Diamedica solution provides controllable, safe CPAP with minimal running costs.
Another new product is the Diamedica Oxygen Reservoir Filling System and Reserve Oxygen Cylinder for use with an oxygen concentrator. The system will take oxygen from any oxygen concentrator and fill a reserve tank to a pressure of 5 bar (75psi) giving 100 or 500 litres of usable oxygen for use in the event of a power failure for direct supply to patients. It can also be used to provide up to 8 hours of additional back up supply to run the Glostavent Anaesthesia machine in the event of electrical failure and no available cylinder
