Teb keyhan Chromic Catgut is a biologic absorbable suture obtained from sheep gut submucosa.its threads are treated whit chromic salts to prolong the absorption time of the suture.Chromic Catgut is absorbed by the enzymatic reaction (phagocytosis). A tissue reaction may be observed before organic materials are completely absorbed.complete mass absorption is approximately in 70 days. The thread keeps its tensile strength between 14 and 21 days. When used in infected tissue or in tissue with increased levels of proteolytic enzymes (e.g.stomach, cervix, and vagina)it is more quickly absorbed. This suture is sterilized by gamma radiation and is available in brown color. Available sizes are presented in the attached table.

Packaging
Teb Keyhan Chromic Catgut is packed as follow: Single-needled gauge sizes 6/0 to 2 (U.S.P) with a suture length of 75 cm are packed in boxes containing 24 sachets of sterilized ready-to-use suture.
Expiration
Teb Keyhan Chromic Catgut sutures are usable for up 5 years from their manufacturing date.
